Abstract

It is shown how one dynamic element may be incorporated into operational urban models. That element is household mobility, caused by the evolution of households through stages in the life cycle. First, the significance of life-cycle changes as an agent causing intraurban mobility is reviewed next, a matrix representation of the dynamics of life-cycle changes is examined and then the properties of that representation are described.-Author
