Abstract

To reduce resonance effects in contouring machine tools, feedback regulation has been the conventional approach. Although feedback control might effectively increase the bandwidth or suppress the vibration, it often accompanied by increased actuator efforts and reduced stability margins. In this paper, an integrated approach of command interpolating, notch filtering and feed-forward control to compensate for resonance effects is explored. Since the feedback loop of the original system is left unchanged, the proposed scheme poses no threat to the system stability, and excessive control signals can be avoided. Design issues are discussed and simulation results are shown with a comprehensive mo..
