Abstract

Explores the much-used device in documentary films of creating animation from still photos. Refers more widely to the current interests of the GLAM(Galleries, Libraries and Museums) sector in exploring ways to use digital technologies to extend access to artefacts often locked in storage for long periods of time. Extends on traditions of multiplane animation, first invented in the 1930’s with possibilities of intricate placement and animation of digital lighting, and camera. Draws on traditions of Surreal and Dada like collage and juxtaposition.
