Interprofessional community care: A simulated clinic for healthcare professional learners

Abstract

This chapter presents a case study that describes an interprofessional simulated clinic based in a community setting in rural Victoria, Australia. Internationally, interest in interprofessional practice has been building following the recommendations of the World Health Organization and several systematic reviews. The reviews identified the need for preparing health professionals for collaborative practice, for learning to work in teams and for developing services to improve care, including community health services.
