Abstract

The majority of young people with a mental illness experience significant challenges in obtaining regular occupation. Many of the mental health-related services provided do not address occupational needs. Employment can be a realistic goal for young people with mental illness but there needs to be a shift in focus from the way services have traditionally been offered.
