Abstract

A micro method is described for the measurement with a silver thiol electrode of the rate of hydrolysis by serum pseudocholinesterase of acetylthiocholine; 0.005-ml samples of serum are adequate and the method may be used to determine the degree of inhibition of the esterase by inhibitors such as dibucaine, fluoride, and solanine. Because of the simplicity of the measuring system the method could be easily automated. © 1964.
