Dr Donna Coleman, pianist, performs and provides commentary about solo works by composers associated with the Second New England School of Composition, also known as "The Boston Six," to create a context for the music of Charles Ives. The Boston Six includes John Knowles Paine, George Whitefield Chadwick, Arthur Foote, Edward MacDowell, Horatio William Parker, Amy Cheney Beach. The "Plus Three" are Charles Edward Ives (who studied with Parker) and Scott Joplin (who was creating Ragtime in the same era as The Boston Six were still working within the context of German Romanticism), and Frank Churchill, born in the state of Maine, who composed Someday My Prince Will Come, for the film Snow Whit..
