Abstract
A stable high resolution estimator (SHIRE) based on a new weighting function for eigenvectors of an array sensor covariance matrix is proposed for bearing estimation of closely spaced sources. SHIRE is data adaptive and requires no user defined parameter in its implementation. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the performance achievable. © 1992 IEEE
