Perturbed spectra of glasslike chains

Abstract
In this paper we calculate the vibrational spectra of classical, disordered, glasslike chains using a perturbation method and examine the effect of various types of disordering on the spectra. The effects of localization are discussed and the strong influence of this phenomenon on the convergence of the perturbation techniques is discussed. The influence of fluid damping on the lattice is also treated, thereby providing an approximate calculation for the damped oscillatory behavior of coagulated colloidal systems. © 1993 The American Physical Society.
