This paper reports on a pedagogical approach to the preservice primary music program at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. This constructivist approach, integrates performing, listening and composing, with a particular emphasis on creating and organising sound. In this paper we present a case study that highlights the building of knowledge, skills and the confidence of teachers to engage their students in composing.
