Abstract

Histories of childhood, youth and emotion are complex and diverse, and Childhood, Youth and Emotions in Modern History: National, Colonial and Global Perspectives, edited by Stephanie Olsen, is reflective of a wealth of complexity and diversity. With chapters dealing with widely varying historical and geographic contexts, it would be easy to assume this a disjointed collection. However, the considered editing and introductory chapters to this volume ensure that it is comprehensive rather than confused.
