System dynamics modeling for multi-state systems

Abstract

In this paper, the dynamic behavior of the system reliability is modeled by system dynamics approach. Since the reliability levels of the components and systems changes during functioning periods, this variability should be considered in reliability assessment. System dynamics has been used to simulate the dynamic interactions of the phenomena in different areas such as economics, environment, social, humanity, management, and engineering. In system dynamics, Causal Loop Diagrams (CLDs) and stock and flow structures are employed to both represent the elements and model their interactions in order to predict the future status of the system.
