Abstract
Metaphors are recognised as playing an important role in identity construction and meaning making in career (Inkson, 2004; Mignot, 2000), working life (Inkson, Dries, & Arnold, 2007), and organisations (Cornelissen, Oswick, Christensen, & Phillips, 2008; Morgan, 2006). It is necessary to understand how individuals and organisations conceptualise career so as to understand their meanings in context and behavioural implications to implement suitable, practical, interventions.
