Abstract

Research with vulnerable or marginalised groups involve a number of challenges, not least the ethical dilemmas related to interpretation and representation. For instance, research has consistently shown the vulnerable position of young people in care, the traumatic experiences of many of those children and young people and the challenges they face, not least when leaving care. Yet little is known about positive experiences and relations in these young people’s lives. This chapter draws on interview data from a larger, mixed methods cross-national (England, Denmark and Norway) research project which aimed to build a more nuanced understanding of the experiences of young people with experience..
