Abstract
In a study to evaluate effects of carbohydrate supplements on nutritional status in hemodialysis patients, seven out of 11 experienced a significant increase in body weight which was not due to fluid accumulation. Caloric intake increased significantly, mainly accounted for by carbohydrate in the supplement.
