Abstract
As a physicist, I have been privileged to intersect with the world of ethnomusicology through my research on the acoustics of the didjeridu, the highlight of which was to meet and work with Joe NeparrLatin small letter Enga Gumbula. This is a brief account of my perspective on that journey, the research undertaken, and the role that Joe played in it.
