Influencing instructor mindsets in teaching undergraduate online music courses

Abstract

Data evidence that establishes online music pedagogy will assist in identifying beneficial approaches for improving the online music learning experience (Bowman, 2014). Therefore, the purpose of this presentation is: to highlight the need for a shift in pedagogical mindset towards the inclusion of social-constructivist online course design; to provide examples of a social-constructivist pedagogical mindset in online music courses; and to identify possible methods for developing and sustaining towards a social-constructivist paradigm shift.
