Abstract
In endeavours to enhance research within the field of biomechanics; such as assessing the likelihood of fractures and failure in different part of the skeleton of humans and animals, quantitative computed tomographic (QCT) scan-based models have been widely used. In order to provide a good foundation for conducting numerical simulations such as finite element analysis (FEA), it is of crucial importance to have a comprehensive and thorough characterisation of the mechanical properties of bones. In bones, their modulus of elasticity has been computed, and correlated with the density for both cortical and trabecular bones [1]. The modulus of elasticity, which is dependent on several parameters..
