On the Performance of Probabilistically-shaped CAP over Optical Wireless Communications

We propose and experimentally demonstrate the first probabilistically-shaped CAP (PS-CAP) for OWC. For a 12.5-Gbit/s transmission, 1-dB sensitivity improvement is achieved. More importantly, the proposed PS-CAP enables the ability of capacity maximization for CAP-based systems.
