© 2018 IEEE. Modern optical networks deploy many cascaded-ROADM to enhance the network flexibility, which induce severe filter narrowing effect. We reveal the linear advantage of adaptive multicarrier modulations by the optimum power allocation and capacity-approaching modulation.
