Unconventional Women

Abstract

For over a decade Mark Nicholls has been creating plays that centre on women who don't conform. From the monstrous to the maternal and all shades in between, these women and the characters who love, revile or are bemused by them run the gamut from tragedy to comedy, but never fail to surprise and intrigue. With musical interludes and wry observations on human relationships, Nicholls and his merry band of strolling players have entertained a select and regular audience and introduced them to women (and a few men) who are larger than life, full of contradictions and always captivating.
