DIGITAL DEXTERITY

Abstract

This chapter describes how several topics relevant to both architectural design and structural engineering were central to the established educational agenda at the University of Belgrade in 2008, representing an intersection between architectural practice, education and research. Students were asked to apply computational logic to thinking about spatial organization and construction, develop a better understanding of material properties, and acquire transferable knowledge. Each semester, students were asked to work collectively to build large structures, such as the construction of an assembly to fill an entire room.
