Abstract

62Marine organisms are surplus sources of biologically active and available compounds. The presence of these bioactive molecules in marine sources puts them at very important position in diet-based regimens. Thus, the trend to consume food as a “medicine” is gradually becoming more common among people because of the awareness of the role of bioactive or nutraceutical in human health beyond the basic nutrition. Accordingly, marine lives are major source of these bioactive compounds such as polysaccharides, peptides, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), and phlorotannins. These bioactive compounds have the ability to minimize the effect of lifestyle-related disorders. Hence, the functional and..
