Alice (not her real name) is aged 53. She lives with schizophrenia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, type-two diabetes, incontinence. and obesity. Under the care of the public guardian,Alice has had 20 years of experience with mental health services and four admissions to long-term psychiatric care.
