Immune checkpoint inhibitors and BRAF-MEK inhibitors have revolutionized the management and prognosis of patients with metastatic melanoma. However, there is minimal evidence to guide their incorporation into current treatment paradigms for unresectable stage III disease. The era of effective systemic therapies has prompted a discussion about what constitutes unresectable disease.
