Abstract
In November 1996, the Model Criminal Code Officers Committee (MCCOC) published its Discussion Paper in which its proposed 'law of sexual offences against the person' was set out. 1 Written responses to the proposals were requested and nationwide consultation meetings were organised in association with the Office of the Status of Women. We attended the consultation meeting held in Melbourne in February 1997, and this essay is an amended version of our written submission to MCCOC.
