Abstract
Intro: This paper describes the design of an online survey targeting young adults, 18 to 34years, who use social media. Our intention in this survey was to seek the views of young adult social media users about the role that social media plays in their lives. To explore their motivations, and perspectives when engaging social media, and any interaction they perceive between social media use and social and emotional wellbeing. Methods: This was an exploratory and descriptive survey, examining the personal views and experiences of young adults who use social media.
