Self-coherent Detection in Stokes Space

Abstract
We review self-coherent (SCOH) modulation in Stokes space with varying degrees of freedom. We show that such an electrical spectrum-efficient linear modulation with simple and low-cost direct detection can be potentially suitable for short-reach communications.
