Abstract

Introduction There is an emerging interest on the indirect effects of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection following allogeneic haematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). The long term impact of CMV infection on overall patient quality of life, fatigue and ability to return to work has not previously been described. Objectives We evaluated quality of life measures in recipients of allogeneic HSCT who did and did not experience post-transplant CMV viremia. Methods All adults undergoing allogeneic HCT are invited to attend the Long Term Follow Up (LTFU) clinic at 2 years following their transplantation. For inclusion into the study, we selected any allogeneic HCT recipient who first attended LTFU c..
