This section features linguistic anthropologists who workin Indigenous- and endangered-language contexts, one ofwhich (Davis) is Indigenous. The United Nations designated2019 as the International Year of Indigenous Languages,and that led Jenny Davis to suggest to me a focus on In-digenous languages in this World Anthropologies section ofAmerican Anthropologist.
