NMIT Music Curriculum Redesign

Abstract

The project is a collaboration between educational researchers and discipline lecturers exploring the redesign of the curriculum around an ecology of resources that enables and enhances a refocus upon student-determined learning rather than a curriculum determined by current IT infrastructures that reinforce a teacher-directed pedagogy. The key drivers for this change are a reconception of the needs of the graduates of the programme, whose enrolling demographic is one typified by low academic achievement and limited digital literacies.
