Abstract
A new thallium(I) supramolecular polymer, [Tl(μ5-HTBT)(H2O)]n (1), (H2TBT = tetra bromo terephthalic acid), with monoclinic crystal system and P21/c space group has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The coordination sphere around thallium(I) ion can be considered as O4Tl···O2Br3. Each HTBT− acts as a five-fold-donor ligand. Secondary hydrogen bonding interactions and Br···O halogen bonds also exist in 1. Microstructure of compound 1 was also synthesized with sonochemical procedure. Removal of coordinated water molecule from 1 was investigated in static atmosphere of air which showed different behavior in comparison with that obtained fro..
