Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of high frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) compared to high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) on mortality and morbidity in preterm infants born at less than 37 weeks postmenstrual age with pulmonary dysfunction requiring mechanical ventilation. We will undertake two comparisons: Elective HFJV versus elective HFOV. Rescue HFJV versus rescue HFOV.
