Abstract

There is limited literature providing evidence to guide psychosocial service provision and planning for paediatric transport accident survivors within acute hospital settings, with most research focussing on long term psychiatric outcomes of adult survivor’s post-hospitalisation. This project was based at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, and aimed to create a demographic picture of the child transport accident survivor population, seek greater understanding of service experiences, and consider perceptions of service needs from patients, parents/ carers and clinical staff.
