Abstract

Organic photovoltaics (OPV) materials are an established class of light-harvesting, solution-processable organic semiconductors. These materials have attracted substantial interest from the scientific and commercial communities due to their potential for a low-energy, high-volume form of production, applicability to a multitude of market niches and the facile tuneability of their light-harvesting capabilities to match the desired portion of the solar spectrum. Recent research efforts over the last decade have seen both small molecular and polymeric OPV materials reach power-conversion efficiencies on the order of 10-15%, which represents an efficiency milestone that suggests the commercializ..
