Early auditory exposure and linguistic interactions are fundamental in shaping the trajectory of typical language development in hearing children. These early linguistic experiences occur within the context of adult-child exchanges, through daily experiences, care routines and play. For children with prelingual hearing loss, early access to sound through hearing devices enables them to participate in these early linguistic experiences and can mitigate the potential negative effects resulting from hearing loss.
