Liver dysfunction and fat accumulation in liver correlates with metabolic syndrome, also increases the risk of development of type 2 diabetes, advanced liver disease and several other complications. There are no simple or widely effective medical solutions to these conditions and further studies are required for clarification of mechanisms involved.
