The Internet has evolved a long way from transporting basic web data to transporting traffic instigated by new emerging services that are available today. One such service is wireless-based remote human-to-machine/human interaction, in which touch and actuation related information is delivered over the network. Such a service is referred to as the Tactile Internet, and it requires a network, integrating wired and wireless communication technologies, to provide high reliability and ultra-low end-to-end latency in the millisecond range. To date, some wired access networks can partly meet the requirement of the Tactile Internet, while currently deployed wireless access networks may not be able ..
