Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common cardiovascular condition due to increasing life expectancy, increased comorbidities and increased risk factors such as obesity and sedentary lifestyle. AF is associated with an increase in healthcare utilisation, mortality, medication use and decrease in quality of life. AF is also associated with a wide range of other comorbidities such as heart failure which worsens the prognosis further.
