Feral Queer Camp

The idea of the ‘feral queer camp’ emerges from the hope that we can bridge gaps between academia and the community — in this case the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer + (LGBTQ+) community – through adopting ‘feral’ ways to develop and enact social and cultural change. Feral is defined as 'the domesticated gone wild', and we refer here to academics taking their knowledge and teaching about sexuality and the arts out of the elite environment of the university and directly into community and festival venues and environments to open up new ways to think about and articulate our experience as queer-identifying people.
