Creating an interactive music diffusion system

Abstract

In this study I take a phenomenological approach to music composition, improvisation and sound system design. I apply the writing of author Shoshana Zuboff’s The Age of Surveillance Capitalism to formulate an approach to composition and interactive design. I test whether it is possible to convert themes of Zuboff’s book into an interactive work of art which is relevant. I apply my research to the creation of an interactive sound installation based upon a Behavioural Value Reinvestment Cycle model.
