Abstract

The original version of this article unfortunately contained a mistake. The second sentence of the Introduction should read as: In 2016, the crude suicide rate in Japan was 18.5 per 100,000, and the age-standardized rate was 14.3 per 100,000 (World Health Organization 2019).
