Abstract

Being placed within the ring of fire, Chile as a developing country constantly has to deal with the effects of natural disasters and the destruction of dwellings and key infrastructure. Consequently, the need for shelter and emergency housing in large quantities are part of the recovery strategy in the period of reconstruction. Social copping in the aftermath requires not only basic shelters as an immediate response but also, sustainable development of emergency post-disaster housing is required.
