A key location for the development of scripted content in television drama is the writers' room, a place where story developers, script editors, script writers and script producers gather to create stories, devise character arcs and plot episodes. This presentation considers writers' rooms in contemporary Australian television drama based on interviews with twenty-two professional screenwriters working within the last ten years in Australian scripted television production.
