Health promotion teaching: Some examples of sessions and programmes

Abstract

This chapter outlines current pedagogical approaches and learning technologies being used at international levels in Australia, Hong Kong, the US, and the UK. It highlights educational strategies and learning opportunities adopted such as problem-based learning, community-based learning and interprofessional cooperation to match the learning outcomes as delivered, assessed and evaluated in health promotion. Health promotion and disease prevention is possible when sustained actions are directed both at individuals and families; as well as the broader social, economic and cultural determinants of non-communicable diseases.
