Abstract

English classrooms represent an important source of language learning for a diversity of students. This work has always been supported by texts which mediate classroom teaching that engages with identity, subjectivity and the cultivation of dispositions, attitudes and values (Beavis 2018). In recent times, debates about what constitutes a text, worthy of study, have manifest into curricula and practice that increasingly includes digital games as forms of literature through which the objectives of English teaching can be achieved.
