Abstract

In 2006 the NTSCorp Research Unit presented at the National Native Title conference on its breakthrough application to native title research of a relational database management system (RDMS) nicknamed FA-RES (Future Acts & RESearch). Four years on, FA-RES has gone through two generational advances and now stands at version 3. This RDMS currently tracks over 50,000 individuals together with their genealogical and geographic affiliations, tens-of-thousands of primary- and secondary-source documents including maps & images, and geospatial data for NSW, QLD and VIC.
