Abstract

This paper will refer to recent work by the NSWNTS Research Unit to describe the functions and benefits of relational databases in managing large volumes of diverse but interrelated data relevant to anthropological and historical Native Title research. The NSWNTS Research Unit is currently using specialized software to develop a relational database to index and track information used in its reports. This allows researchers to efficiently and accurately access, cross-check and spatially map sources of information according to relevance and validity.
