Abstract

This relational database management system links together over 20,000 digitized and transcribed birth, death, and marriage certificates, 5000 contemporary interviews, and 7000 published texts and unpublished archival records relating to the Indigenous population of South-East Australia. The system architecture is designed to extract and link matching records for individuals living throughout a 230-year period. Cumulatively, over 200,000 unique names have been identified by the system, resulting in a clerically reviewed and fully-cited population model over 100,000 individuals.
