Abstract

Contemporary practices of transport planning under neoliberal systems present unique challenges for transport educators, and for transport advocacy. Through an auto-ethnographic account of negotiating the transport educator-advocate nexus, this chapter examines the opportunities and limits of educators as advocates in transport politics. By drawing on three brief vignettes, the chapter explores three key aspects of the educator-advocate nexus. They are: foregrounding transport politics in teaching, building platforms to shared advocacy, and centring student-led advocacy.
